Hydrate Your Hair with Carrots and Honey Hair Mask DIY

    At Cachos Brazil we love DIY hair care, especially hair masks.  The right ingredients can restore your hair by infusing the hair with nutrients, vitamins and lost lipids.  Today I'm going to share with you one my go-to recipes.

     

     The Role each ingredient plays

    Carrot - Carrots are rich in vitamin A and C and a great source of vitamins B2 and B3. It makes the hair shine and soft.

    Honey - Honey is rich in vitamin A, C, and E. 
    It contributes to the health of the scalp and alignment of the cuticles and definition.

    Milk - Milk in this hydration mask is to restore the lost lipids since milk containing proteins. 

    Hair Conditioner - For added conditioning

    Buriti Oil (optional)- Rich source of Beta Carotene even more than carrots, helps restore damaged hair

     

     Ingredients

    1/2 unpeeled carrot

    1/2 cup of milk

    1 tbs of honey

    2 tbs of conditioner

    1/2 tbs of buriti oil

     

    How to Prepare

    Blend the carrot, milk and buriti oil in a blender.  Strain the mix and place it in a bowl.  Last, add the honey and conditioner and mix well until the mixture is homogeneous.

     

    How to Use

    Shampoo hair then gently remove excess water with a towel.  Apply mixture from root to tip.  Place a plastic cap on to create moderate heat.  Leave the mixture on for 20 to 30 minutes.  Last shampoo and condition hair as usual.
